Championship courses, private transport and Highland experiences. Fife, Angus, the Highlands and Speyside.
Gorse and fairway at Royal Dornoch, Sutherland
Some of the most memorable golf in Scotland lies a few hours north of St Andrews. This journey follows the east coast up to the Highlands, linking the championship links of Fife and Angus with the remote, beloved courses of the far north.
In between, there is time for Perthshire, Speyside and the Highlands themselves, the scenery and hospitality that make a golf trip feel like a journey through Scotland.

Courses we would suggest for this journey. Final choices depend on your preferences, each club’s visitor policies and availability when we request tee times.
St Andrews, St Andrews & Fife
The links that shaped the game: double greens, hidden bunkers and the walk home over the Swilcan Bridge.
Kingsbarns, St Andrews & Fife
Opened in 2000 on farmland shaped into convincing linksland, with the sea in view from every hole.
Carnoustie, Angus, St Andrews & Fife
Across the Tay from St Andrews and widely regarded as the sternest Open venue, finished by the Barry Burn.
Dornoch, Highlands & Royal Dornoch
Golf has been recorded at Dornoch since the early 1600s. Plateau greens, with gorse ablaze in late spring.
Ardersier, near Inverness, Highlands & Royal Dornoch
Formerly Castle Stuart: broad, theatrical links above the Moray Firth, a short drive from Inverness.
Nairn, Highlands & Royal Dornoch
Classic seaside golf where the beach is in play on the opening holes.
Brora, Highlands & Royal Dornoch
A James Braid links where sheep and cattle graze freely and the greens are protected by electric fences.
A five-star hotel or characterful townhouse within walking distance of the links.
A handsome house or small hotel near Dornoch, with log fires and a good whisky collection.
Where a group prefers privacy, an exclusive-use lodge on a Highland estate, with a cook if wished.
A sample schedule to show the rhythm of the trip. Your own itinerary will be shaped around your group, and no tee times or accommodation are guaranteed until confirmed.
Edinburgh to St Andrews
Met at Edinburgh Airport and driven north across the Forth. An easy first evening in St Andrews.
Fife
A round at Kingsbarns, then an afternoon in the East Neuk fishing villages.
St Andrews
Your opportunity for the Old Course, through the Links Trust's allocation or the daily ballot. If the ballot is unkind, we will have an alternative in place.
Angus to Perthshire
Carnoustie in the morning, then west into Perthshire for a quiet night in the hills.
Perthshire to Sutherland
A scenic drive north, with a stop in Speyside for a distillery visit and a tasting en route to Dornoch.
Sutherland
The Championship course at Royal Dornoch. In midsummer, a second, gentler round in the long evening light at Brora or Golspie.
Moray Firth
The broad, dramatic links above the Moray Firth. Partners might visit Dunrobin Castle or the Black Isle.
Nairn
A final links round at Nairn, then a long farewell dinner.
Inverness or Edinburgh
Transfer to Inverness Airport for onward connections, or a leisurely drive south to Edinburgh.
One private chauffeur stays with your group for the entire journey, in a vehicle chosen for comfort on longer Highland drives. We plan the routes for the scenery as much as the speed, with stops worth making.
